2025  PSID 2025 Housing, Mortgage Distress, Food Security, Wealth, and COVID-19 Release 1
Early release data collected from PSID families from March-December 2025 on mortgage distress, housing, food security, wealth, COVID-19 & more have been released. The data file consists of a balanced panel of 8,345 families active in the PSID in both 2023 and 2025.

The ZIP file contains 1 SAS data file and summary documentation. These data are preliminary, un-imputed, and some values will change for the final data release.

2024  Child Development Supplement Release 1
An early release of the 2024 PSID Child Development Supplement (CDS-2024) is now available. The release includes selected information collected from questionnaires administered to the primary caregivers of eligible children aged 0-17 years who resided in PSID family units at the time of the 2023 Core interview, as well as selected information from the questionnaire administered to eligible children aged 12-17. CDS-2024 main data collection occurred between January 2024 and October 2024.

The ZIP file contains 4 SAS datasets and related PDF documents. The CDS-2024 questionnaires are available in the Documentation section of the PSID website. The data files include information on 4078 children and 2305 caregivers. Other data, including additional constructed scales, CDS-2024 sampling weights, and remaining questionnaire content areas will be available in a future release along with full documentation of the study.

2014  Child Development Supplement - Polygenic Score Files Release 1
Three CDS-2014 early release data files contains 27 polygenic scores separately for three ancestry groups: African, European, and other.

Each file also includes three global genetic principal components, an indicator of the assigned ancestry group derived from the genetic principal components, and a race/ethnicity variable constructed using the PSID survey data.

The files include a pair of ID variables that identifies CDS-2014 households and each individual’s roster position within their CDS-2014 household. These variables allow users to merge polygenic scores with data from CDS-2014 and PSID using the procedures described in the CDS-2014 User Guide to Genomic Data.

The CDS-2014 polygenic files include a total of 2,513 observations.
